Problem Statement

The legacy on-prem ERP ran on aging, non-redundant infrastructure, resulting in frequent unplanned outages and SLA breaches.
Manual backup scripts and lack of automated failover created significant RPO/RTO risks for disaster recovery.
GDPR compliance was hindered by absence of fine-grained IAM, audit logging, and in-transit/at-rest encryption.

Solution Approach

Performed a detailed assessment of ERP workflows, databases, and user roles to identify migration readiness and security gaps.
Migrated ERP backend to Amazon RDS, enabling automated backups, encryption, and high availability.
Rehosted the application layer on Amazon EC2, using auto-scaling groups and load balancing for improved performance.
Used AWS DMS to migrate 1.8 TB of ERP data with less than 2 hours of downtime.
Integrated Amazon S3 for long-term storage of audit logs and archived records with lifecycle rules.
Implemented IAM policies and KMS encryption to meet GDPR requirements and secure sensitive financial data.
